Alex Woodard
Although he hails from San Diego, Alex Woodard’s songs cross musical lines between country music, rock, and Americana.  He focuses on storytelling, fusing together influences from classic rock with sounds from his travels.  Woodard states that, “Stories don’t care where you’re from” and indeed his works reflect a cross-spectrum of American life.  After college, Woodard worked in Boston and Seattle, eventually settling into the Northwestern music scene working with musicians such as Brian Young from the Posies and Fountains of Wayne.  In 2008, Woodard released his second, self-titled album, featuring Sara Watkins and Brian Young.  The album continues with Woodard's trademark narrative style, exploring aging and its role in modern America.
