Hailed by the Chicago Sun Times as "a company that moves with sensational energy and panache," Luna Negra Dance Theater fuses contemporary dance and ballet with a distinctive Latino and Afro-Caribbean style. Celebrating its ten year anniversary, the company presents a program of modern classics and newly commissioned works, including José Limón's There is a Time and Vicente Nebrada's Batucada Fantastica. Continuing the company's committment to promotting young, Latino choreographers, Luna Negra will also present a new work by Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Nube Blanco, featuring the songs of Maria Dolores Pradera.
